It all started in the summer of 2001, I was young and looking for my first vehicle. We found this truck and my parents were sold on it. I of course wanted a V8, but I wasn't paying for it so I didn't have a say in it then. 2006 rolls around, the truck hits 101k miles and shuts down. I stripped out the distributor gear on the 4.3L V6.
I get this crazy idea in my head. I had seen it done online a few times and it all sounded so easy that replacing the V6 wasn't an option. I started looking for a V8, a 6.0 V8 to be exact and I came across one in Dallas for $1700. SOLD! I purchased the engine and a few other goodies, they are:

The truck is fully sound deadened on the interior. It has run a best 1/4 time of 14.7@94MPH in the winter of 2006 at Temple Academy Dragway in Temple, Texas. The run was in full street trim with 33 PSi in all tires and 3.23 gears in an open differential rearend. I want to thank Danny Hereid, Daniel Crosby, Jared Jackson, Patrick Estes, and Josh Coke. I also want to thank my parents for their support and the entire quicksilvertrucks.com forum for helping me on tough decisions. I have a few additions to the truck that will be made over the next few months, but I am currently shopping for a new daily driver so I can give the Tan Turd the attention she deserves. Next purchase should be a 2003-2005 Regency RST or a TBSS.
